How it Started

Electro Tone Service was founded in 2025 by Dawson Hooker.

Dawson began his musical journey at the age of five, starting with the piano. He took a few lessons but was largely self taught. Throughout school, he played various instruments including saxophone, and guitar.

Dawson was always tinkering with new sounds, chasing tones, and trying to recreate the music that inspired him. This curiosity quickly expanded beyond just playing, as he began modifying his own guitars, and helping friends and acquaintances with theirs. His passion grew into building and modifying tube amplifiers, guitars, and ultimately Hammond Organs and Keyboards. Dawson has since spent countless hours reading schematics and studying electronics specifically related to tube guitar amplifiers, electric pianos, and electronic organs.

At the beginning of his professional career Dawson came across a heavily modified and damaged Hammond B3 organ. This organ had everything wrong, that could be wrong. The project became a full-scale restoration: refinishing the cabinet, overhauling the keyboards, and reviving the electronics.

That B3 restoration proved to be a defining moment that connected him with a local long standing organ repair company. Where he worked several years maintaining hundreds of repairs yearly. From Hammond organs to digital pianos, synthesizers, and keyboards, he immersed himself in the craft, developing the technical expertise and passion that continues to define his career today.

What began as a hobby quickly developed into something much more, naturally evolving into a business dedicated to preserving and restoring musical instruments.
